— Police are investigating the Tuesday morning shooting death of a man in a west Fayetteville home.

Officers responding to a shooting call just after 5:30 a.m. found Brian Goldburg, 21, shot to death inside 1113 Quail Meadow Drive, off Cliffdale Road.

Police said they found the accused shooter at the scene along with a high-powered rifle, which investigators said was the murder weapon.

Authorities arrested Jaime Aaron Guzman, 21, and charged him with first-degree murder. Guzman, a member of the 82nd Sustainment Brigade at Fort Bragg, lived at the home. He was being held Tuesday afternoon in the Cumberland County Detention Center.

Fayetteville Police Department spokesman Dan Grubb said Goldburg was a member of Fort Bragg's 82nd Airborne Division.

Police said a woman was inside the home at the time of the shooting but was not hurt.

"I don't know all of the details of what eventually happened. It appears everyone knew each other here," Grubb said.

Neighbor Griffin Daniel told WRAL News that a young military couple moved into the home about two months ago. He never noticed any problems and said the couple was "quiet."

Actually it hasn't worked in the UK at all. The criminals have guns and only those few cops who are qual'd can have a weapon in the boot. More and more police in the UK are getting qual'd on firearms because the criminal element has them at the disadvange. Is their crime rate/weapons as high as ours? nope, but they're working on it.

excuse me fkozlof, but do you honestly think that removing the weapons from the law biding citizens will reduce the violent crimes? After all, it would only be the ones that abide by the laws that would turn in any weapons and not buy another one.

Remove firearms, he'd probably have used a knife. Remove knives, he'd probably use a blunt object.

Lets see how long we can keep this going....

    >>It seems that every hot head has a gun. Such a problem solver, isn't it?

Yeah, we should ban cars, too after that 1 nutcase tried to kill his GF by having a head on collision and killing someone. That would certainly solve that problem. I mean, it's not like the vast majority of motorists are law-abiding citizens that use them for recreation, to go and get food, and all that.

We should let the stupid minority have responsible people's rights taken away.

If the victim is in the military also then the military needs to assert jurisdiction and begin charges for court martial proceedings.

Let's See: they were trained to shoot and kill people.
    Conclusions:
    1) the training was effective
    2) such people shouldn't take 'their work home with them'.

It seems that every hot head has a gun. Such a problem solver, isn't it? Meanwhile lobbyists think we need More guns.
