Taveta Michelle Hobbs missing since 2008 in raleigh

Raleigh Police are searching for a 44-year-old woman last seen in November 2008.

Taveta Michelle Hobbs, 44, worked in Cary. Her last known address was 5809 Edgebury Road in Raleigh.

Hobbs’ estranged husband told police that she suddenly went to California. Investigators checked her credit record and found no activity since her disappearance.

A missing-person investigation was opened last month when authorities said an out-of-state family member with whom Hobbs had infrequent contact asked for law enforcement for help in contacting her.

Hobbs is described as a black woman, 5-foot-4 and 130 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who knows Hobbs, is aware of her current location or believes they may have seen her since November 2008 is asked to contact the Raleigh Police Department at 919-996-3555.

Yes the smart ones are out today. Complaining because the police did not use their ESP skills to know she was missing in 2008 when she wasn't reported missing until last month. Are we going to get the people now saying, why is the police taking so long they have known for a month she is missing.

Hubby is suspect. what a joke, gone since 2008? give me a break police need to put pressure on the husband.

No matter what you arm chair detectives think, this isn't a mistake on the part of the police. It seems, from this incomplete reporting, that police didn't talk to her husband until the missing persons report was filed. Police can't exactly investigate a missing person until a report has been filed and obviously the husband didn't file one. So either she doesn't want to be found or she's dead.

Gosh thats so sad, the husband did something to her.

I agree with Joani P - what took so long? This is really sad that she has been missing since Nov. 2008 & no one has been looking for her. I pray to God that she is found safe.
