Raleigh, N.C. — Gov. Beverly Perdue announced Monday the start of Financial Aid Awareness Week in North Carolina.
Over 350,000 students in the state have applied for financial aid to help pay for college costs. Perdue is urging students and families to learn more this week about how to apply for financial assistance for college.
Financial Aid Awareness Week concludes with FAFSA Day, which is Feb.13. On FASFA Day, college financial aid officers and specialists will be available at more than 120 locations across the state to help high school seniors and families complete and submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Most FAFSA Day sites will be open between 9 a.m. until noon to offer free assistance. Registration is encouraged.
