He didn't check because your husband was a hwp. They knock on your door to get the key and to let you get your stuff out of the car. And for those of you who are saying it could be a home invasion they are not trying to get in your house, and you know why they are there. You know they are coming because you didn't pay your bill... Ya'll sound so crazy with some of your comments.(If they come in my house and take my car) oh my

Now, not knowing everything about NC laws but won't she have to pay for the repairs to the car before it is in sellable condition for the finance company?
    Just a thought.

james27613 - "if she paid up she could have gotten the car back the next day."

You've never had anything repo'd have you!

And furthermore, you're assuming she had the money, and in this mess of an economy, that's foolish to assume.

    God bless.

Thanks for having my last post removed, whomever....It lasted a lot longer than I expected... and I just knew it would make some look into the deep dark truthful mirror and realize how they sound sometimes. (It worked, apparently) Kicking some poor soul when they are down on their luck is shameful, plain and simple.... whether they ride a donkey or an elephant. The strength of America lies in its people, rich or poor, a fact so many have neglected in the last couple of years...is partisan politics really worth the great division of rich/poor, north/south, conservative/moderate/liberal? Just curious....

if she had it parked in the garage or another car blocking it in, they can't do anything about it.

foolish for the repro man to chase her.

Yes she was at fault for running from him. But The Repo man is not a Law inforcement officer. He is not allowed to pursue anyone for any reason if it violates the public saftey or traffic laws. They are contracted civilians and nothing more. Chances are both will be ticketed and fined.

The way to keep the repo man from repo-ing your car is to make the payments on time.
