CARY, N.C. — The U.S. Marine Corps-sponsored Toys for Tots Foundation is making it easy for families in need to get toys this holiday season.
Toys for Tots allows people to request toys and make monetary donations online.

People requesting toys need to provide their name, phone number, address and the ages and genders of their children. A local coordinator will contact them with additional information.

For those that want to donate a toy, there are bins located in many local stores. Donors buy a new, unwrapped toy and place it in the bin. Toys bought at Triangle toy stores are given to Triangle families.

Toys R Us is teaming up with Toys for Tots this year. The toy store chain has set a national goal of 3 million donated toys.

“It’s all about the kids and all about the children,” said Jennifer Phillips, the manger of the Toys R Us in Cary.
