The North Carolina Association of Educators has named its choices in the October school board election in Wake County. The NCAE endorsed Rita Rakestraw from District 1; Horace Tart from District 2; Karen Simon from District 7; and Lois Nixon from District 9.
“The candidates Wake NCAE recommends are people who have many of the same priorities for our communities and our children as we do,” said Jennifer Lanane, president of the Wake NCAE.
The group represents 5,000 employees of the Wake County Public School System.
