Norlina, N.C. — The suspect in the death of a Norlina woman has been arrested, according to investigators with the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
Around 4 a.m. Saturday, a dispute broke out at a mobile home on lot 20, off Town and Country Road. Police said Teon Steed, 29, fired shots, striking Patronica Jefferies, 27, in the abdomen.
Jefferies was taken to Mariah Parham Hospital in Henderson, where she was pronounced dead.
Steed, of 610 Kerr Lake-Cole Bridge Road, was arrested Saturday night.
The shooting happened inside Norlina town limits, but the sheriff's office is handling the case.
Steed was being held Sunday in Warren County Jail without bond.
