Warrants: Ex-teacher's aide slapped, force-fed students
Arrest warrants detail accusations that a former teacher's assistant at Adams Elementary School in Cary abused two children in a special-needs class.

Edward Michael Gregory, 51, of 103 Goldwood Court, was arrested Thursday on five counts of assault on a handicapped person. He was released on bond that night.
The warrants say that Gregory abused two boys on four occasions in December 2008 and May 2009. The boys were between the ages of 9 and 11 at the time.
The warrants also allege that on Dec. 11, Gregory grabbed the boys' chins and "physically force-fed peanut butter" to them. That was intended to be punishment, according to the warrant.
On May 13, Gregory allegedly slapped one boy on the head because he didn't want to eat his lunch, the warrants says. A week later, he grabbed the other boy by the left arm and threw him out the front door of the school; a day later, he pinched the back of the same boy's neck, according to the warrants.
The warrants say that three other teachers who witnessed the abuse made school administrators aware of it. The school then alerted police.
Police said they had received previous reports about Gregory, who had worked for the Wake County Public School System since July 2006. He resigned June 11, police said.
Adams Elementary Principal Doug Hooper said the school is fully cooperating with authorities. He declined to comment further, citing the ongoing investigation.
Gregory's next court appearance is set for Aug. 26.
