Stabbed him in the back outside the store in the parking lot. Sounds like self defense to me (sarcasm alert).

"The point is to eliminate the threat by killing it. And you do what you have to do to kill that threat no matter what the consequences may be."

The consequences would be criminal and civil charges. "Officer, I did what I had to do to STOP the threat, I felt my life was in danger" Now if it required a double tap to stop the threat then so be it.

Here is another where he had some upcoming court dates in Wayne & Duplin Co. Mr. Singleton was a fine outstanding citizen, NOT!

gratefultogod, me to.... for not being born a white raciest!

*** Your comment just made you a racist in my opinion. You can be a racist and not be white. your statement implies that only white people can be racist---which makes you a racist.

educated black woman...Sounds as if you knew Mr. Singleton & you know the area. No, Bob's Convenient Store is not in the projects. BUT, 1/4 of a mile east is 'Courtyard' projects & 1/4 mile ENE is 'Lincoln Homes' projects. Police have more problems with those two areas than they do in the entire city.

AND, you know for a fact that most of the people you see on the streets of Slocumb & adjacent streets are either selling drugs, robbing, or any other thing that they can get their hands on. I have seen young punks robbing people in broad daylight in that area. MOST people avoid that part of town. It is, INDEED, a high crime area.

Those middle eastern men are known for having little or no patience with this type of people that live there. So before you go defending some of that street trash, you need to know that the locals there are tired of the all of the crime.

If I am not mistaken, the one that got killed has a criminal past. I've heard that name before. I'll check.

Dear Educated Black Woman - I live in Goldsboro too and no matter what you try to convicne me of, there are a few streets you would not catch me near after the sun goes down and Slocumb street is one of them. Yes, there are TONS of decent, hard working people that live in Downtown Goldsboro, but there are also quite a few that are not decent, nor hard working. No matter what you say, you cannot convince me that Slocumb street is where I should buy a house and raise my family.
As for the comment about "what if the guy was white"...I take offense to that. You clearly state that we should not rush to judgement, yet you are so quick to point out the "what if's". They victim was not white, and honeslty, the color of his skin does not change the fact that he IS THE VICTIM here.

For those that want to harp on the "what if's" in this case, it doesnt matter if the guy was there to rob the store or not, he was outside the store, which means the clerk ran him down, that is not defense.
