Autryville boy found safe; dad arrested

Posted June 30, 2009

— A man accused of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend and her 8-year-old son and then abducting the couple's 4-year-old son has returned the boy home safely, Sampson County authorities said Tuesday.

Deputies arrested Jose Ramon Torres-Ventura, 31, after he brought his son, Ramon Marlon Torres, back home to 55 Calico Lane in Autryville. An Amber Alert was issued for the boy earlier in the day.

Nalleli Taxilaga-Olea, 25, told deputies that she and Torres-Ventura got into a fight and he assaulted her and her 8-year-old son around 11:30 p.m. Monday at the house. She is 21 weeks pregnant with his child, deputies said. She was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and released. The 8-year-old was not injured.

Taxilaga-Olea told authorities that Torres-Ventura was drinking, broke all the phones in the house and told her that if she called police he would kill her and their 4-year-old son. He is from Mexico and is in the U.S. illegally, she told deputies.

Authorities charged Torres-Ventura with assault on a female, communicating threats, assault on a child under 12 and injury to personal property. He was being held in the Sampson County Detention Center without bond on the domestic charges. He was given a $5,000 bond on the non-domestic charges.

I pay attention and recieve the alerts via texting! So, goofball some of us DO care.

    Yes accusations.

I hate seeing this, it shines a bad light on a lot of actually conscientious people in the community who are being productive and making a better life for themselves and their families.

The unproductive and no good abusing "illegals", however should get smacked back to wherever, they can deal with their countries (mexican or other) jail instead of the ones here.

Conscientious parenting starts at home. we must help childrent be safe. This mother however is not being smart staying with this guy. She must BE STRONG.

maybe they should just ship him back to Mexico. Now he'll be draining the US for more money while in prison.

I'm certain it will all be better if he can just get the "hand up" he & his family "need" & therefore deserve. Be sure to provide quality healthcare, the best education the guvmint can provide (especially that all important college edumacation) & to the front of the line for any "benefits" - all courtesy of NC tax payers. Yep, that'll fix it... that a bunch of little sibs so if another goes missing it won't be so sorely missed. Right.

That picture is from his VALID NC drivers license. it is NOT a mug shot. remember, ACCUSATIONS!...Not everyone is guilty when ACCUSED...

  • wife-of-a-concrete-man Jun 30, 2009

agreed, weldinggirl87- it IS a child, endangered. illegal or legal. this child did not ask to be put in such a situation as this. did not ask to be brought here or born here- whatever the case. this is a HELPLESS, INNOCENT child, who has no other choice but to live the only life that has been provided. the concern here was for the CHILD'S SAFETY!

  • whatthewhat? Jun 30, 2009

accusations....he has not been found guilty of anything....

  • Tired Of Excuses Jun 30, 2009

I'm glad the child is safe.
On a side note. Until our state and government seriously addresses illegal immigration and the tax money going to support their "anchor" babies. We are going to remain in the red. Other countries allow state subsidies to children born here if at least one or both of the parents is a citizen. David Price has a horrible record when it comes to illegal immigration write him and tell him how you feel. Know where your elected public officials stand on illegal immigration. Show them you mean business when they are up for re-election.

alert on, alert off, big deal, who pays attention? none of us!

I have tried to remain openminded about people coming here "for a better life", but im really getting sick and tired of every crime story lately involving illegals. And while im at it, i resent having all my childs school papers comeing home in two languages and having interpreters at PTA meetings too. If your going to come here, then BE here. Why are we turning into the country they fled, and bending over backward to make it easier and easier for them? Enough already. As you can see from this story, they do not respect each other, much less the rest of us.
