Site SearchFayetteville, N.C. — Cumberland County sheriff’s detectives were investigating a double shooting early Thursday that killed one man and seriously injured a teen.
Tremayne Wayne Council, 22, whose last known address was 2918 Scarlett Drive, was shot to death Thursday morning as he walked along Starlit Drive in eastern Cumberland County.
Investigators say Council’s body was found lying in the driveway of a home on the 400 block of Starlit Drive. Several people who were in the area told detectives they heard multiple shots.
Another victim, 16-year old Maurice LaQuan McLean of 2507 Slater St., was recovering from gunshot wounds he received in the shootout.
Family members took him to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he underwent surgery, according to authorities. His condition was unknown.
