DURHAM, N.C. — The Durham Bulls will take on the Norfolk Tide in their season opener at 7:05 p.m. Thursday at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
Tickets are available. Prices range from $7 to $9.
Last year's Bulls’ pitcher of the year, Mitch Talbot, will take the mound as the team's starting pitcher Thursday night.

Opening night will also feature $1 Sabrett hot dogs, French fries and popcorn. Garlic fries are also being offered this year.

Matt DeMargel, director of media relations, said fans can now walk all the way around the stadium.

"We're now finally a 360-degree stadium. There's a stairwell behind the big snorting bull in left field so people can walk all the way around," he said.

Overall ticket sales are down slightly, but individual ticket sales have remained about the same, DeMargel said.

About 8,000 people are expected at the home opener. That attendance would be in line with previous years.

The Durham Bulls are trying to keep their games affordable, officials said. Their new promotion is called a “Nine Inning Vacation for $9.” The packages include a ticket a free gift including a hat or a bag of peanuts.
