Police Chief Tim Stoker said Wednesday that someone found a man's body in a wooded area near an undeveloped subdivision on Forestville Road.

ROLESVILLE, N.C. — Police are investigating the death of a man found Tuesday afternoon near an undeveloped subdivision in Rolesville.

Police Chief Tim Stoker said Wednesday that someone found the body about a quarter-mile into the woods near the Drayton Reserve subdivision on Forestville Road.

Stoker said investigators believe the victim had been fatally shot at the scene. The body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Chapel Hill for an autopsy.

He did not have any other information about the victim.
