Amber Alert issued for missing Hoke County child

An Amber Alert was issued for late Friday for 12-year-old Chelsey Lynn Bell, who may be headed with her abductor to Maxton or Charlotte in a purple Ford F-150 extended cab pickup truck.

RAEFORD, N.C. — An Amber Alert was issued for late Friday for 12-year-old Chelsey Lynn Bell, who may be headed with her abductor to Maxton or Charlotte in a purple Ford F-150 extended cab pickup truck.

Chelsey is described as Native American, about 4-foot-4 and 98 pounds. She has long black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, a lime green southpole pullover shirt, black leather jacket and black flat shoes with a bow, officials said.

The child’s alleged abductor is her mother, 35-year-old Michelle Hardin, dispatchers said. She is described as a Native American woman, 5-foot-4 and 132 pounds. She has long dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Hardin was last seen wearing an orange Harley Davidson shirt, white jeans, black Harley Davidson boots, an orange Harley Davidson bandanna and a brown Harley Davidson jacket. Hardin has a scar on her upper lip and a mole on her left cheek.

Hardin was seen traveling with a heavyset, white man who had a mustache. He was wearing a white T-shirt. A white teenage boy, about 14-years old, is also reported to be traveling with them, officials said.

Chelsey lives with her father on Mockingbird Hill Road in Raeford, Hoke County Sheriff's Office Chief of Detectives John Kivett said. She was last seen there with Hardin.

Officials believe the group could be headed to Maxton or Charlotte because family members live in both places.

Authorities were conducting a search in Hoke County late Friday.
