RALEIGH, N.C. — Elizabeth Edwards is preparing to release a new book about the "burdens and gifts of facing life's adversities."
The book, titled "Resilience" and set to be published in May, comes less than a year after Edwards' husband, former Sen. John Edwards, publicly acknowledged having an affair with a video producer in the months prior to his second campaign for president.
Publisher Broadway Books describes Elizabeth Edwards as someone who "on the surface, seems to have led a charmed life."
But the promotional materials also describe John Edwards' infidelity, along with the 1996 death of the couple's son Wade and Elizabeth Edwards' ongoing battle with breast cancer.
Elizabeth Edwards previously wrote a memoir titled "Saving Graces," first published in 2006, that also detailed her life's struggles.
