Raleigh, N.C. — A warm front is heading to the area and should bring temperatures in the mid to upper 60s Wednesday. Rain and wind are also on the way.
Tuesday was overcast and cool with a few spotty showers in the afternoon. Temperatures hovered around the mid 40s.
On Wednesday, the temperatures will be milder, but it will also be rainy, windy and cloudy.
“What we will see is a windy day (Wednesday) with showers in the afternoon,” said WRAL Meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.
During the afternoon, rain in the mountains could turn to snow.
"Wednesday looks like we're going have a lot of variety across the state," WRAL Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel said.
The rest of the week will see temperatures bouncing back-and-forth, reaching as high as nearly 60 degrees and as low as almost 20 degrees.
For those getting weary of winter weather, there's some light ahead – Groundhog Day, when a rodent will let us know whether we have six more weeks of winter.
