Schools plan to make up snow days

e-mail print friendly

Wake and Durham county school districts were closed again Wednesday while road crews continued cleanup from Tuesday's snowfall. Both districts announced when students will make up the two snow days, including Saturday school for some Wake County students.

Wake County students on year-round schedules will have class on two Saturdays, including this weekend, to make up the days missed. They'll make up Tuesday on Saturday, Jan. 24, and Wednesday's day off on Saturday, April 4.

Wake students on traditional scheduled will have make-up days on two Mondays -- Feb. 16 and April 6.

Students on modifed schedules will make up the days March 9 and 10 (a Monday and Tuesday). Wake Early College students will make up the days Thursday, April 9, and on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26.

In Durham County, public school students on a traditional calendar only have one day to make up. Tuesday was a scheduled holiday for students, so the snow did not cancel any scheduled classes. They will make up Wednesday's snow day on Monday, Feb. 16.

Students in year-round schools in Durham will make up two snow days on Monday, March 30, and Friday, June 5.
