Fayetteville police say folks should stay off the roads this morning if they don’t have to travel.

With temperatures dipping down into the teens overnight, black ice is a concern. DOT crews put salt and sand on the major roadways. Bridges, overpasses and secondary roads remain a concern.

Road conditions are not a worry for school officials. Cumberland County Schools are closed, but it is a teacher workday. Schools are also closed in Harnett, Hoke, Moore and Robeson counties.

Fort Bragg has authorized a three-hour delay for employees to report to work.

Yesterday’s winter storm dumped as much as seven inches of snow in parts of the sandhills. Fayetteville received about four inches in the city limits.
