Police have identified the person who they say robbed an Erwin home while the occupant was hospitalized – the victim's daughter.

While Linda Mason, of North 12th Street, was in Chapel Hill for cancer treatment, someone stole all of her Christmas decorations, including the tree, police said.

On Monday, police arrested Mason's daughter, Heather Mason Calderon, and charged her with the crime.

Calderdon, 35, of Old Stage Road in Coats, is charged with felony breaking and entering to commit larceny. She was also served with an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for another breaking and entering charge.

Calderon was being held in the Harnett County Jail under $12,000 bond.

Mason reported that in addition to holiday decorations, the thief took sheets off her bed and food from her cupboard. "I don't have nothing there," she said after the robbery.

Mason was staying with another daughter in Mount Olive while the investigation continues.

Hank Hairr, interim chief of police for Erwin, said more arrests in the case are possible.

I feel sorry for the daughter that is having to cope with the mother's sickness and the depravity of her sister! They need our thoughts and prayers cause this must be a hard time with mom sick and knowing what her sister has done. Also, why should the daugher not be charged?? She broke the law. End of story.

I agree with you Tarheelblue I'd love to have my mom back!! Its disgusting the way children especially adult ones treat their parents these days.

what a quack.

WE WISH YOU A METHY CHRISTMAS.......... WE WISH YOU A METHY CHRISTMAS........... WE WISH YOU A METHY CHRISTMAS........... AND A JAIL CELL THATS NEAR SHELLYGIRL - That's awesomely funny!!

I believe if my own child went into my house while I was away getting chemo (and WHY wasn't she with her MOM) and took all my stuff....Christmas deco, sheets, food....they could look to be charged, too.

What she did to her Mom is ruthless, and she's acting like a strung out skank. She deserves to be punished....she would be if she had committed this crime in anyone else's home, so why not Mom's?
