ROXBORO, N.C. — Authorities overnight Wednesday arrested a man who was wanted in a fatal shooting in downtown Roxboro on Monday.

Matthew Long, 20, surrendered to investigators at a McDonald's in Hillsborough.

Police had issued warrants late Monday charging Long with first-degree murder and attempted murder.

Frederick Lamont Satterfield was killed and Greg Pulliam was wounded Monday in a shooting in front of Yesterday's Interiors, 124 S. Main St., near the Person County Courthouse, police said.

Pulliam was treated at Duke University Hospital and released, police said.

Despite witness statements that suggested the shooting started as a courtroom altercation, police said they believe a long-standing feud was the motive for the shooting.

Investigators haven't been able to establish a link between the shooting and the courthouse, police said.
