Raleigh shooting suspect arrested in N.Y.

Divine J. Pollard, 23, was arrested Sept. 24 in Brooklyn, N.Y., Raleigh Police Department spokesman Jim Sughrue said. Extradition procedures are being followed to return Pollard to North Carolina.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police have arrested a second person in connection with a Raleigh shooting that left one woman dead and a man injured.

Divine J. Pollard, 23, was arrested Sept. 24 in Brooklyn, N.Y., Raleigh Police Department spokesman Jim Sughrue said. Extradition procedures are being followed to return Pollard to North Carolina.

Pollard faces charges of murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

The charges stem from the June 10 shooting death of 21-year-old Ryan Nicole Bryant at South Blount and Lee streets. Jermaine Shawon Tyson, 17, was also shot, but his injuries were non-life-threatening.

Jay Cee Flippen, 21, is also charged with one count of murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in connection with the incident.
