A mail carrier on a rural Wilson County route was found to have hoarded mail rather than delivered it.

According to the Wilson County Sheriff's Office, more than 300 pieces of undelivered mail were found at the home of James E. Varnell. 37, of 6418 Litchfield Road. Some charred pieces of mail were also found, leading authorities to believe Varnell may had burned some mail.

Varnell was charged with larceny by an employee after a joint investigation by the sheriff's office and the U.S. Postal Service.

Varnell was being held at the Wilson County jail.

The postal service is working to deliver all the confiscated mail.

the other mail carrier who didn't deliver mail was in the raleigh area....i think holly springs. what is up with this? I guess they get finished with their route really early if they don't deliver the mail.

Hmmm....another mail carrier goes "postal".....stressful job?

so much for neither snow, sleet, or gloom of night delaying him from his appointed rounds

I was wondering where my Geico application was.

Nope..it's another guy, the other one was older, I think 58 who didn't deliver "junk mail". This guy obviously was just lazy and figured he would burn it rather than deliver it!
