Spc. Jonathan R. Singer, 22, of Lakeview, N.Y., had been a paratrooper with the 508th Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team since August 2007 and had been deployed to Afghanistan.

Police said Singer was found unresponsive inside his 2002 Chevrolet at about 1:30 a.m. in a parking lot near Morganton and Reilly roads in Fayetteville.

The state can bar guns. It will not make a difference to the criminals. You are right; they will always have guns.

This is very sad. The young man put his life on the line for our freedom and some one murders him. I pray for his soul and his family.
