Wake high schools above or below capacity

Approximately 5,000 new students will join the Wake County Public School System when traditional schools open on Monday, Aug. 25, 2008. Below are listed the high schools whose student bodies are the most above or below the buildings' capacity.

Over-capacity high schools

1. Panther Creek High (Cary), 487 students
2. Broughton High (Raleigh), 211 students
3. Leesville Road High (Raleigh), 195 students
4. Fuquay-Varina High (Fuquay-Varina), 180 students
5. Athens Drive High (Raleigh), 149 students
6. Green Hope High (Cary), 125
7. Apex High (Apex), 109 students

Under-capacity high schools

1. Cary High (Cary), 548 students
2. Wake Forest-Rolesville High (Wake Forest), 525 students
3. Middle Creek High (Apex), 386 students
4. Southeast Raleigh High (Raleigh), 326 students
