An 18-year-old Rocky Mount man died in what police called a gang-related shooting early Saturday.

Ladarius Wiggins died from a single gunshot wound to the chest, said Megan Hanks, a public-information officer for the city.

Officers responding to calls about a shooting found Wiggins lying in the street near the National Guard Armory at 600 Walnut St. around 12:10 a.m. Wiggins was declared dead at Nash General Hospital, Hanks said.

Police arrested Levon Arrington, 19, of Rocky Mount around 8:45 a.m. and charged him with first-degree murder in Wiggins' death.

Police are looking for a man they call a person of interest in Wiggins' murder. They described Montre Darrell Wynn as a 19-year-old black man, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds.

Moquieck Bemetrice Gardner and Theodosia Carleen Scott, 22, have been charged with accessory to murder after the fact. During the investigation, Edwin Darrell Willis, 19, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

All four suspects were being held in the Nash County Jail on Saturday afternoon. Arrington has been denied bond.
