Cary, N.C. — Police arrested a Cary man Thursday in a suspected case of sex crimes involving a 12-year-old Sanford boy.
Dakota Walter Lee Melton, 21, of 324 Brook Arbor Drive, is charged with one count of felony taking indecent liberties with children and one count of second-degree kidnapping. He was out of jail Thursday afternoon on a $20,000 secured bond.
According to search warrants returned Tuesday, Melton met and chatted with the boy on MySpace, picked him up near his home in Sanford and took him back to Cary, where they went to dinner and a movie before going back to Melton's apartment.
The boy fell asleep on a couch and awoke with a man "sucking on his neck," investigators said in search warrant affidavits. A juvenile-certified sexual assault nurse examiner found hickeys on the boy's body, the warrant stated.
During their initial investigation on July 24, Melton told investigators at his apartment that he and his roommate, performed sexual acts via a Web cam for their primary source of income.
That prompted investigators to apply for search warrants. They seized five computer hard drives, a DVD, a digital camera and two memory cards from the apartment.
Authorities said Thursday the investigation continues and there could be more arrests.
The maximum sentence on a conviction of second-degree kidnapping is 74 months in prison and 49 months for indecent liberties with a child.

Any time a person attempts to justify an unjustifiable action, that is defending the action. Think of a trial lawyer who is defending a murder case when there are 100 witnesses, countless video tapes that show the murder, he turning himself or herself in saying that he or she did it, and the defendant having the murder weapon on them with blood dripping from their clothing.
This case is similar in statue.
Any time someone says "This happened - so what?" You have started the defense process of the un-defendable.

"Again, another person who's sexual preference and/or orientation is young children."
Which has nothing to do with the defensive stance that some have taken here.
If that statement has angered you - then I have only one question to ask: What is there to hide?

Sooo. Your evidence?

Therefore, am I to believe that you as well support that their sexual orientation or preference should be a defense.

"It is customary to classify pedophiles as heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual, just as it is customary to classify persons attracted to adults as heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual."
