Garner police seek man accused of shooting 18-year-old
Jonathan Antonio Williams is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in connection with the shooting that occurred in the 400 block of Weston Ridge Run.
Posted — UpdatedGARNER, N.C. — Garner police have obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect in the shooting of Raleigh man Wednesday night.
Jonathan Antonio Williams, 23, is wanted in connection with the shooting, which happened shortly before 9 p.m. in the 400 block of Weston Ridge Run.
The victim, James Tony White, 18, was taken to WakeMed with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, police said. He was listed in good condition Thursday morning.
Authorities have not offered a motive for the shooting but said they do not believe it was a random act.
Williams, who is charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, Is black, stands 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet inches tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing light-colored blue jeans and a green shirt.
Police said they believe he is driving an older-model white Mercury vehicle. A further description was not immediately available.
