— Two children injured in a car accident in Rocky Mount Sunday have been released from the hospital.

One of the boys needed stitches to close a head wound, but both were in good condition Monday their grandmother reported.

A pickup truck carrying the two children and their grandparents flipped over at the corner of Wesleyan Boulevard and Harbor West Drive.

Witnesses said another vehicle ran a red light and hit the pickup, causing the accident.

"I don't think we needed to see such raw coverage though. I know I for one didn't need to see 2 children with bloody faces."

I'd say we need MORE raw coverage like this. People need to know the consequences of running red lights/not paying attention when driving. Show bloodied accident victims, especially those not wearing seat belts, and maybe people will realize the reality of dangers on the road.

Why have they not id'd the driver of the other vehicle? To be honest, she did appear to be, well I'll just wait and see before I make that statement.

Sloane is carrying the child because the news crew came up on the scene before emergency crews did. I don't think we needed to see such raw coverage though. I know I for one didn't need to see 2 children with bloody faces.

Does anyone know why Sloane was carrying the child?

I know Sloane has a young child. It must have broken her heart to see these little ones injured. Way to go, Sloane!! Attractive, charming AND cool under pressure.
