These "Alerts" have become another boondoggle that started out as a good idea. Just like "Handicapped Parking". Walk down the street of downtown Raleigh and look at how many "handicapped" people there are taking up all the parking spaces

They need to stop with these Silver Alerts everytime someone doesn't come home for a few hours or every time someone goes "missing" for 1/2 a day. Silver Alerts are pretty much on par now with crying wolf. People are not taking them seriously any longer.

You are "sure" of this? You don't know the situation or this person.

"No reason was provided for canceling the alert."

Ummm.... If he was last seen at the home and it was canceled - why do I need a reason to be concerned over a 48 year old man?

That is just plain stupid. I want to know where all of the 18-25 year olds go during summer. Perhaps a half-nude drunken beach alert?

Another AAPR person out for a Dewar's and tonic and forgot how to get home and we waist our time looking for this person in a "Silver" Alert. Power to the Gray Foxes...... I am sure all he did was go get some smokes and a drink!
