Obama to kick off economic tour in Raleigh
The invitation-only event is part of the likely Democratic presidential nominee's two-week "Changes That Work for You" tour.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Likely Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama will kick off a two-week national tour Monday in Raleigh, his campaign announced Friday.
The invitation-only event is part of his "Changes That Work for You" tour, which will include events with middle-class voters where they work and where they live, according to a news release, and focus on how the economy affects the everyday lives of Americans.
Monday's speech is at 11 a.m. at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds.
At a Democratic Party function last month, Obama said he wanted to stop giving tax breaks to companies that outsource jobs overseas, and he suggested a middle-class tax cut for families to help with rising costs of health care and groceries.
The appearance will be the Illinois senator's first in North Carolina since defeating Sen. Hillary Clinton in the state's May 6 primary with a little more than 56 percent of the vote.
The state has not voted for a Democrat for president since 1976.
