Franklinton teen found, safe

Posted June 3, 2008

— The Franklin County Sheriff's Office announced that Kali Elizabeth Norris, missing since last Thursday, was found on Tuesday afternoon.

The state Highway Patrol launched an air and ground search on Saturday night after a CSX employee reported that he thought he had seen Kali walking along the railroad tracks.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children also put its resources behind the search for Kali.

Police said Kali had run away once before in early May, but returned less than 24 hours later.

...also agree with Joe Blow slightly. If the kid is a mental case, she needs attention. Are the parents then negligent? The answer would have to be yes but I'd hate to be in their shoes. The family has suffered.

There's a lot of unanswered questions and the community since it was involved is entitled, esp if public services and funds were used.

Prayers to the family, they'll need it and some strong parenting skills.

    - agree with Admiral and Tom Morrow.

I lay odds that she was with her b/f. She was found in Franklin County, and there is no way that she was unconscious for 5 days. She had to be actively hiding and avoiding being found. Any adult that helped her needs to be charged.

The compassion here is getting less and less. Maybe all the perfect parents would like to start parenting classes for the rest of us parents that struggle and cannot get the assistance or help we need because we actually pay for our services ourselves without any help from the government. All this parenting wisdom and civic duty should be shared with the legislators and Medical community. Have any of you tried to get specialist appointments? It takes weeks to months to get in and then you have to try this try that. Okay, you all are not big fans of Christians or prayer or not being in full control of every breath your children take (I think that is reality, you cannot control everything, bad things happen to us all). But, how about some humanity and a little kindness. How about turning you civic works toward the medical and mental health reform groups that have been talking for years and done nothing. They get your tax dollars too.

Glad that she's safe. Now they need to find out why she keeps running away from home. If it's just to get attention then they need to punish her for all the time and worry she caused people and citizens trying to search for her............

She had an appointment scheduled for today to run some tests. It could be any number of things but to put blame before having those tests done is jumping to conclusions at best.

  • Tom Morrow Jun 4, 2008

What is she suffering from, dementia? We ALL have a medical condition of some sort... It is not a valid excuse to me.

  • Joe Blow Jun 4, 2008

BusyB97, thank you! And to those who say a Christian family is best..yada yada she is a Preachers Daughter! What do you have to say about that???? She's just a young girl lost in this world trying to find her way. We all make mistakes and again -SHE HAS A MEDICAL CONDITION!!!!!

For those that did nothing but pray - Thanks for nothing.
For those who prayed and went out to find this girl. Thanks a Ton!
For those who did God's work and found her. Fantastic Effort folks!

You're right, it doesn't say explicitly that she ran away [this time]. It infers it by stating that she DID run away a month or less ago, as well as the comment by the train guy that she was walking down the tracks.
