Convenience store bandit has hit 14 times in Cumberland Co.

The masked, armed man struck most recently on Friday morning, just after 1 a.m. at the Kangaroo store at the corner of McArthur and Honeycutt roads.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County Sheriff’s detectives have connected 14 recent convenience store robberies to the same suspect.

The masked, armed man struck most recently on Friday morning, just after 1 a.m. at the Kangaroo store at the corner of McArthur and Honeycutt roads. He threatened the clerk on duty with a gun and demanded money from the cash register.

The suspect is described as a black man, about six feet tall and weighing between 200 and 250 pounds. In Friday's robbery, a witness said he was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, a mask and sunglasses. He also has a tattoo on his right hand of the letters “N” and “J.”

Descriptions of a getaway vehicle include a mid-1990’s Ford Windstar van and a small passenger vehicle.
