Cary man pleads guilty in bigamy case
Keron Wilkins was given a five-month suspended prison sentence and 24 months of supervised probation.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Cary man accused of being married to both a Cary woman and Clayton woman pleaded guilty to felony bigamy Tuesday.
Keron Wilkins, 31, of 136 Chatham Woods Drive, was given a suspended sentence of five months in prison and 24 months of supervised probation.
Cary police arrested Wilkins earlier this month after receiving a call from his wife in Cary, Shannetta Dawn Stone-Wilkins, about how he would disappear for several days at a time and could not be reached.
She has said he might have as many as seven wives, including one in Atlanta, three in Virginia and one in Arizona.
Cary police said they believe Keron Wilkins was purposely leading a double life.
Stone-Wilkins said she learned her husband had a wife in Clayton, Chaka Wilkins, and two children with her – an 8-month-old and a 5-year-old.
A third woman from Atlanta, Jenean Baker, later came forward, saying she married Keron Wilkins in Miami in November 2005 and started divorce proceedings in early 2006.
Baker has said she has decided to pursue criminal charges, and there could be more forthcoming in other municipalities.
