— The Johnston County District Attorney has decided not to file charges against a man who struck and killed a Four Oaks woman on Tuesday.

Donna Baker, 23, of 1505 Elevation Road in Four Oaks, was walking with her fiancé and their 13-month-old baby on Old School Road when a car hit her from behind.

The driver Randy Stanley, 25, also of Four Oaks, told investigators the sun was in his eyes. Police said speed was not a factor in the incident.

Services for Baker are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Minshew Funeral Home in Four Oaks. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Baker's funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday.

First of all, let me say that I have tremendous sympathy for the family of the victim. With that said, this is why you walk on the left side of the road, facing traffic. That way you can get out of the way if someone is coming at you. You can't see the cars coming if you are walking on the right side of the road.
