Officer uses Taser gun on high school student
Two students involved in a schoolyard fight face criminal charges in Cumberland County.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Cumberland County school resource officer used his Taser gun to break up a fight at Seventy-First High School Tuesday afternoon.
Sheriff's office spokeswoman Debbie Tanna said two boys were fighting over a girl in the bus parking lot. The fight continued after repeated warnings from the officer.
Tanna said Vincent McLaughlin, 18, was shocked.
He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital as a precaution, then was booked at the Cumberland County Detention Center. McLaughlin, of 6869 Kizer Drive, was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting orders from a law officer and obstruction of justice.
The other boy, Demarious McCain, 18, of 6808 Kingsgate Drive, is also expected to face charges.
The boys were released Tuesday night to the custody of their parents on a $500 bond.
