WILSON, N.C. — An Elm City man was facing charges in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Wilson County.
Christopher Lee Estep, 20, was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday on U.S. Highway 301, near Firestone Parkway. Just after 7 a.m., a passerby called 911 after seeing a body lying in the median.

Justin Harris, 19, was charged Sunday with felony hit and run. Police say Harris was driving the gray-colored vehicle that struck Estep and kept going.

Harris was arrested overnight at a house off Highway 42 West. His arrest came after someone at the house called police to report Harris' car being involved in a collision.

Officers had issued a brief description to the media Saturday of the suspect vehicle.

Harris was held in the Wilson County Detention Center Sunday. He posted bond and was released Monday.
