— A former youth soccer coach has been indicted on charges of having child pornography on a computer.

A Durham County grand jury indicted Michael Anthony Ingram Monday on seven counts each of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Ingram hadn't been arrested by Wednesday evening. He couldn't be reached for comment.

The charges stem from videos and pictures on a computer hard drive that depicted minors engaged in sexual activity.

The State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the case, but it was unclear Wednesday what prompted agents to search the computer.

Ingram was a soccer coach at Leesville High School from 2004 to 2006, when he moved to coach at East Chapel Hill High School. He also worked as a teacher's assistant at both schools.

The indictments allege that the pornographic videos and images were obtained between July 2004 and August 2007 – the period he was at the two schools.

Ingram also has coached in youth leagues across the Triangle, including working for the Triangle Futbol Club until February.

Dewan Bader, director of coaching for Triangle Futbol Club, said club officials asked East Chapel Hill High officials why Ingram resigned from the school after one year but couldn't get any details.

Ingram was let go from Triangle Futbol Club for failing to hold up his responsibilities, Bader said.

BULLDOZER: "Note to self,"Watch your children and all those who watch them."

That's the key. Parents and guardians should always watch their children. It only take less than a second for something to happen to your child. Teach your child also to be aware of someone watching them or asking them questions etc. Just be more aware and make your child more aware too. When children are playing, their mind is on playing not on the danger that is lurking near by.

Information alert: crooks, thieves, drunks, drug addicts and sex addicts are not branded with an "X" on their forehead. Agencies do not have any idea what goes on the privacy of your home. If others use your computer, you might be surprised what is on your hard drive on the computer. You better be careful yourself-- big daddy is always watching. Some even put web cams up to watch their babysitter while they are pretending to be at work.

I can not figure out from the charge what tole the Coach played in this. What is his involvement? Did he film it? Was he part of the sex act? He has been charged with all of these counts, why is he not locked up? I guess we now know why more and more parents are having their children home schooled

How upsetting this is. Like someone else said, let's hope this was limited to his fantasy world. This is exactly why I don't want my kids in after school programs or any other type unsupervised (by me) activity. Often times, predators flock to areas dense with children. And, aside from a lie detector, I don't see how Wake County or any of these soccer clubs could have ascertained that this guy was a potential predator. Children should be able to go into a school or sport with an expectation of safety and due care from the adults in charge. So sad!

I do not see anyway that the school system could have known that this man had it in him to do this. I can only hope that this was limited to his fantasy world and he has not acted out with some poor child.

Don't we seem to get 1-2 of these characters about every week???

What sort of personality screenings do the local school systems do? ..... OK, that's a silly question. "Fog a mirror" is the interview exam.

So put this guy on "probation" (ha ha ha) and let him go back to his old tricks.
