Head-on Crash in Raleigh Kills 1, Sends 4 to Hospital

The state Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident on Buffaloe Road at Westminster Drive in Raleigh.

It happened at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A sports utility vehicle crossed the center line and struck a Honda Accord head-on, troopers said. 

The driver of the Honda was killed. Three other people, including two children, from his vehicle were transported to WakeMed with serious injuries.

The driver of the SUV was also hospitalized.

Authorities withheld the names and conditions of the victims.

unfortunaly i knew the people in the honda.. i work with both the driver and passenger.. Ruben Medina.. and Alex Ramirez Alex is my best friend... and my roommate... ruben died along his 9 year old boy and the lil girl is in a critical condition... the mom of coursed is devastated... and i am worried about my buddy... all this b/c an irresponsible wreckless driver.. i hope she is happy now...

Wow! A SUV hitting a Honda head on - I'm surprise anyone in the Honda lived.

This is not far from where I live. I have almost been hit head on in this area several times. I have no idea why, but people cannot seem to stay on their side of the road especially in the curve thats just down the road from where the accident happened.

The blue tarp is not a good sign.
