RALEIGH, N.C. — Police reopened Six Forks Road around noon after crews completed repairs to utility poles.

Around 6 a.m., an accident knocked down a power pole, taking out the traffic lights at the intersection with Shelley Road. Crews took about six hours to complete repairs.

Police shut down all four lanes of the Six Forks and cut off access from Shelley, causing some disruption during the morning commute.

The closure increased the amount of traffic on nearby streets, including Millbrook and Falls of Neuse roads.
