Most of the diamond jewelry in the world originates from one company -- De Beers.
That monopoly puts the company under a microscope. In 2001, some customers filed suit, alleging that De Beers was fixing prices. As the two sides work on a settlement, Monica Laliberte took a look at the local impact of the lawsuit.
