Troopers: Alcohol a Factor in Fatal, Fiery Wreck
Alcohol was a factor in a fiery wreck that left two young men dead in Wayne County early Saturday, the state Highway Patrol said.
Posted — UpdatedTroopers said Grant Allen Williams, 20, of Goldsboro, was driving along Rosewood Road, or S.R. 1236, 6 miles west of Goldsboro, around 3 a.m.
Williams lost control of the vehicle, and it ran off the right side of the road in the 1500 block of Rosewood Road. The vehicle struck a culvert, overturned and then caught fire, troopers said.
Williams and his passenger, Jonathan Crawford Peedin, 18, of Goldsboro, died in the accident.
Troopers determined that alcohol contributed to the single-vehicle crash.
