Police were trying to track down suspects in morning and afternoon bank robberies Friday, and they circulated a picture of the man they seek for one of the heists.

Two men robbed a Wachovia bank branch on Spring Forest Road about 10:15 a.m. Friday, police said.

At about 3:40 p.m., the man entered the BB&T bank at 611 Oberlin Rd., passed a note to a teller and fled after getting money, police said.

According to witnesses at the Wachovia incident, two masked suspects robbed the bank at gunpoint and fled – possibly in a tan or light brown colored SUV that had a dent in its driver’s-side door.

The first suspect was described as a black male standing between 5 feet 9 and 6 feet tall. He was said to weigh about 155 pounds and was wearing a black, zippered hoodie with a white design on it. The second suspect was described as a black male standing 5 foot 9 to 5 foot 10 and weighing 145–155 pounds. He was wearing an off-white colored hoodie.

In the BB&T robbery, the thief was described as a black male with a medium to dark complexion, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches tall and weighing around 180 pounds.

He was wearing a red or orange coat with a design visible on its front and sleeves, a baseball cap and dark-colored trousers.

Police had a picture of the BB&T suspect.

Anyone with information that might assist either investigation is asked to call the Raleigh Police Department’s Detective Division at 919-890-3555 or Crime Stoppers at 919-226-CRIME.

Yeah, WRAL could make their jobs easier by just using templates for crime stories, fill in a few blanks like what, when, and where and post.

It seems like there have been several bank robberies lately. Does it seem that way, or did I just not pay as much attention before? Also home invasions seem to be soaring too. It is sad. People should get a job and get money the old fashion way.
