FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Two RBC Centura branches were robbed Wednesday, and police said people they arrested later in the day were responsible for both hold-ups.

The branch at 214 N. McPherson Church Road was robbed at about 1 p.m. The robbery at the branch at 2897 Village Drive occurred shortly after 2:30 p.m., police said.

No one was injured in either hold-up.

Suspects in the two robberies were arrested in a traffic stop on Blount Street near Robeson Street, police said. Authorities withheld their names.

Separately, Sanford police were investigating the robbery of the First Citizens Bank branch at 206 Carthage St. A man approached a teller at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and positioned his hands in his jacket to suggest that he had a weapon, police said.

The robber was described as a black man, between 5 feet, 8 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall and about 180 pounds. He was wearing dark jeans, a white shirt with green writing, a dark jacket with fur trim, sunglasses and a Bluetooth ear piece.
