I will say this though, laying at the intersection of I40 and I85 does present a unique problem for Durham as they are located at the intersection of two major drug transhipment corridors. Rocky Mount has a similar problem because it is at a critical point on I95 for drug trafficking.

Durham really needs to do something about the violence. I am not trashing Durham, but an excess of violence does exist there.

Is this the 34th or 35th homicide this year for the "peaceful" crime-free city of Durham? I know; I'll just call Mayor Bill Bell or Judge Orlando "Let'm Go" Hudson for the body count. Or maybe they'll like the Iraqi President, George Bush ("The economy is doing wonderful")--they can't see what everybody else is seeing. In the end, however, Durham is getting what it asked for and deserves by "re-electing" such pathetic leadership (or lack thereof).

"Durham police are investigating a homicide"

Do those officers do anything else? I feel for them to have to put up with this day in and day out. They don't get enough credit, it's got to get old.

Crime is at an all time low as Bill Bell knows. Dont be alarmed by the bodies laying at your feet.

I thought that the re-election cry from The Right Reverend Doctor Mayor Bell was that there was no crime in Durham. I am glad he or the City Manger/City Attorney/Whatever does not represent me. Sad, Sad!
