— A Fayetteville man gave away nearly 700 bikes on Friday.

For more than 16 years, Moses Mathis has collected new and used bikes and given them to children in Cumberland County.

Last year, Mathis, who is also known as the Bicycle Man, received the President's Call to Service Award.

The award is given to someone who's volunteered 4,000 hours or more in a lifetime.

Now I have heard nothing mentioned about the Roxboro Moped Man..
I heard of a man in Durham who gives kids lots of free candy. He has full and deep pockets for them.

I love Old Moses to death. This man has faithfully fixed and gotten kids bikes every year. I enjoy reading about him He should be acknowledged by the state if he hasn't been already.

What the heck is wrong with this guy? Why in my day we had to build our own bikes from scrap and pedal them to school uphill both ways in the snow, and we was lucky if we had that. And we were happy, too.

Just kidding! What a great guy. He's surely brought immeasurable amounts of joy to others. Merry Christmas to him and everyone!
