Wendell Police Investigate Attempted Murder-Suicide

Children who heard shots fired inside the house might have saved the female victim's life by calling 911.

Police said a Hispanic male shot Eolilma Carrascal in the back and then shot himself in the head. The shooting happened at 403 W. Third St. around 8 p.m.

Carrascal was taken to a hospital and was listed in fair condition on Sunday evening, police said.

The male shooter died, officials said.
