Pizza Deliverymen Robbed; Durham Police Seek Info

Durham police investigators are asking for information about two robberies of pizza deliverymen at an apartment complex on Newcastle Road.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police investigators are asking for information about two robberies of pizza deliverymen at an apartment complex on Newcastle Road.

The first robbery was reported at 12:31 p.m. on Nov. 8 at 1435 Newcastle Road, Building D.

A Pizza Hut deliveryman was attempting to deliver a pizza at an apartment, but no one came to the door.

As he was leaving, a male who had been sitting in a nearby stairwell grabbed him from behind, put a gun in his face and robbed him of his wallet and cell phone, police said.

The assailant was described as a light-complected black male in his 20s, 6 feet 2 inches tall with a medium build and a goatee.

The second robbery happened at 12:48 p.m. on Nov. 20 at 1435 Newcastle Road, Building D.

A Domino’s deliveryman was knocking on an apartment door when a male came up behind him, threatened to harm him and demanded money. He took the victim’s cash and cell phone and fled on foot. He was described as a black male in his 20s, 6 feet 4 inches tall with short hair and a mustache.
