The Orange County District Attorney's Office dismissed rape charges Monday against five teenagers in Chapel Hill.

First-degree rape charges were filed May 25 against Colton Sanders, Sean Crawford-Brown, Mark Holland, Mario Neville and Brian Minton for a Sept. 2, 2006, incident in the Southern Village area of Chapel Hill.

Chapel Hill police said the alleged victim's family did not report the allegations until Nov. 30. Investigators then had to locate and interview the alleged victim and each person before making the arrests.

The district attorney's office determined that there was currently insufficient evidence to warrant prosecution.
