Dunn, N.C. — Authorities said a school bus headed to Coats-Erwin Middle School was rear-ended by a pickup truck Wednesday morning in Harnett County.
The accident occurred on Red Hill Church Road near the intersection of Suggs Road and Cauliflower Lane in Dunn.
Fourteen students and Mary McKoy, the school bus driver, were transported to Betsy Johnson Hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck, 16-year-old Melissa Moore, was also taken to the hospital. She has been charged with failing to reduce speed.
Twenty students who were not injured were taken to school on a different bus.
