— A Rocky Mount man charged in a child pornography case was back in court this week to face additional charges.

Danny Batts, 41, is facing more charges of sex crimes and exploiting a minor, stemming from pornographic photos found on his cell phone, officials said.

According to court records, the photographs show young children performing sex acts with an adult.

Investigators said an acquaintance of Batts found his cell phone, saw pornographic photos and turned it in to police.

Police seized other items from Batts' home, including a computer.

Batts was first arrested in August on 15 counts related to child pornography. Investigators said he could face up to 20 additional charges.

Arrest warrants show some of the offenses took place over a period of more than three months.

Investigators have not disclosed what relationship they believe Batts had with the children shown in the photos. They are still trying to identify some of the children.

The Nash County District Attorney's Office turned the case over to the state Attorney General's Office due to a possible conflict of interest. A relative of Batts' works in the district attorney's office.

Batts remained in jail Wednesday under a $180,000 bond. He is due back in court in December.

I agree, mfalesana, kids do dress inappropriately these days and it is the parents responsibility to monitor kids clothing.
But it still is not their fault... can the perverts be cured, why don't they seek some kind of help??

"Have you ever noticed the way grown men look at even teenagers these days? It is sicking!"

Have you seen the way parents let teenagers dress these days??? It's even more sickening. Parent's need to wake up and protect their kids. There is no excuse for irresponsible parenting.

Another BEAST has been caught. I hope he never sees the light of day again, he doesn't deserve to be around children anymore, period!

I was following my daughter and her best friend (and yes they are cute) into the grocery store at the beach a few months ago. I was several feet behind them. A man in his 40's just about broke his neck turning around to stare at them as they walked into the store. I thought I was going to have to punch his lights out. It was gross thinking a grown man would lear after two modestly dressed 14 year olds. I wouldn't give a 14 year old boy a second glance. Thankfully he just looked (still gross).

Perverts like this - throw the book at em!!!! Poor children.
